tone alley
Tone Alley is a DIY Risograph printing endeavor run by Woodlin Latocki in Minneapolis, MN. Printing with a refurbished RISO SF5130 and six ink colors, this studio produces original work and is open for print services.
This practice seeks to evoke a deep feeling of atmosphere through value, color layering, fluorescence, and analog texture. Prints are infused with a signature layer of human touch and lo-fi noise by using the Riso like a photocopier, working only from physical copies of artwork layers.
This studio is named after an atmospheric sound file from the 2004 game Half Life 2 by Valve Corp.
